Even though I haven't kept in touch with all of my cousins in these last few years, I still hold precious memories of us growing up together. When a loss happens in the family, it hits all of us to the core because we are blood. It feels like there is something missing in all of us since David's passing.
He leaves behind a legacy that will be passed down in our family and all that knew him for years to come. He laid down his life for others and truly left an impact on this world. Our family has endured generations of tragedy, from famine, religious persecution, loss, poverty, multiple wars and invasions. Throughout all of that we have stood and survived because God had a purpose for all of us in this world. This is another tragedy that cuts very deep, and knowing that David chose to fight for our family's roots and the people of Ukraine just shows his dedication and the kind of person he is.
We will all be re-united in heaven one day and I hope I can tell David, thank you. Just as we survived those multitudes of tragedy, we will survive this also. David, you will never be forgotten, rest in peace and say hi to our family members that are already there.
Thank you, Yanochka. It means a lot to us. ❤️
